Meet Lisa Holmes
“I joined UFT just over a year ago. A few friends had moved to crossfit so I thought I’d give it a go too. Just after id joined the business was sold and I met Joel Perryman and Denee Lalouette.”
“Denee’s strong customer focus was evident when he met all the members then remembered my name when he saw me the next night. He is genuinely interested in his members. I was soon addicted to Crossfit and therefore UFT.”
“I really value the extras that UFT provide such as hosting the open, the UFT in-house comp, beach days etc. I think this really sets UFT apart from other “gyms”. All of these things take a lot of time to organise and are done to benefit members and build the community. I also enjoy the specialist training like Oly lifting and competitor training. I also love how UFT provides training for kids and a place for teenagers to go.”
“The programming is excellent. Always carefully thought out to give athletes a good workout and to strengthen movements but not over work a body area. Michael Jaber (Jabber) is always on hand to give advice on stretching and strengthening weaknesses, and he gives a mean massage! I can’t praise Lucas O’Brien enough, he has given me a lot of time even outside of the box getting to know me and helping me grow as an athlete. His enthusiasm for people and this sport is infectious!”
“I haven’t done any Muay Thai (too scared lol) but Kane Worthy has trained me in crossfit a few times, he really knows how to motivate people to get the most out of them and is always watching and correcting form etc. All the coaches are really invested and genuinely care about every member.”
“Then there are the members, an amazing bunch of people, always up for a chat and a laugh after class.”
“As with everything in life, it’s the people you meet that make it. I’ve formed solid friendships and find all the coaches and members really supportive and encouraging. All in all it’s a really positive place to hang out and do a bit of training!”
